"I write to you as last year we registered with UK Angel Investment Network as we were looking to get angel investment to start our Acting School in Leeds. Thanks to the network we managed to secure half the angel investment we were looking for and successfully launched Acting School North." |

Three start-up companies, including one in Groton and one in Stonington, got $150,000 each from Connecticut Innovations, a quasi-government investment fund.
The recipients were Arcanatura LLC, of Groton; Medical Device Logistics LLC, of Stonington; and C8 Sciences, formerly BeCaid LLC, of New Haven.
Arcanatura, founded in 2008, is an animal health care products company, while Medical Device Logistics is developing a closed trading system for hospitals and surgical centers to sell and purchase new medical implants and other devices that are considered surplus.
Each of the firms has also secured private funding in accordance with state rules.
