My education is in physics and engineering (BS and MS) but my training is more in sales, marketing, and management. I can imagine various levels of involvement in my investment ranging from minimal to advisory but it depends on the situation. I don't have a ton of time available. Initially I am not looking to do a major investment in any one company.

Five years ago I started a recreational sports league for adults, the New Hampshire Sports and Social Club. In the most recent year that company generated revenue of just under $1 million, with a net profit of nearly $300,000. The NHSSC now has branches in Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth, and Portland, ME, with an eye towards future expansion throughout New England. Two years I started a restaurant/pub, with gross revenue of approximately $1.3 million. After just two years, that business is now debt free. These two businesses have provided me with the wherewithal to provide capital to up-and-coming entrepreneurs with solid business concepts. I was once myself the beneficiary of angel investors. I hold a Bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in city planning. I seek to be an individual investor, generally silent. First, and foremost, we do no charge any up-front fees to our clients. We are an SEC registered entity, accountable to state and federal regulators for our actions. Our focus at this time is to work with a couple of private investor groups to structure debt and quasi-equity funding for viable projects. With equity being so outrageously expensive, I have not found any project that can actually meet the demands of the few funds that are investing. Currently, we are finding that demands from equity investment funds are in the 25 to 30% annual return range, payments to be made quarterly, with 50+% of the business to be owned by the investors, and a 3 to 5 year buy out requirement. We have been able to package debt for viable projects that allow the principals time to get a project up and running, pay a much smaller amount in debt service than would be paid to an equity investor, and allow the principals to keep their business.
